Circularity of Time

  ***

Description:

Time is actually circular, made up of patterns.

I seldom date entries due to my understanding (intuitive or not) of the circularity of time. In the beginning time was not kept as a linear progression, but rather in terms of the cycles of life and death, growth and diminishment, and the natural cycles of sun and moon, stars and weather. The sun rose and the sun set, the moon waxed and waned, every “year”, the seasons rolled around – providing a background “clock” upon which all was remembered. This in turn produced what is known as a [[circular narrative]]. Trees bloomed and the fruits ripened accompanied by the appropriate cycles of this “cosmic” time-keeper. It was the dance of a tiny point floating in a multitude of patterns, of cycles endlessly repeating, yet each one subtly, mysteriously unique. So arose stories, myths, doctrines and other narratives that spoke of these patterns, passing them on from one generation to the next.
